FAQ

  • Yes, Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) is suitable for patients of all age groups, from newborns to seniors.

Our clinic treats patients of all ages, ensuring that each individual receives care tailored to their specific needs and health conditions. If you have any concerns or questions about OMT for a particular age group, please feel free to contact us at contact@gracejkimdo.com.

  • We do not accept insurance directly, with the exception of Cigna plans (accepted through the end of 2025).

For all other insurance carriers, we are an out-of-network provider. However, we are happy to provide you with an itemized receipt (superbill) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.

Grace J. Kim, DO has formally opted out of Medicare. We do not bill Medicare, and Medicare will not reimburse for services provided by our clinic. Medicare beneficiaries are welcome on a self-pay basis and must sign a private contract before care.

  • Please find this pricing list for out-of-network patients.

While this is the upfront fee that you will be paying, you can submit a superbill to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, typically as an out-of-network provider.

  • We accept payments via debit or credit card.

A debit or credit card authorization is required for all appointments.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance.

No-shows and late cancellations will incur a fee of 30% of the appointment cost.

  • There will be a grace period of 10-15 minutes.

If you arrive within this time frame, you may still be seen without rescheduling. If you know you will be late, it’s recommended to call the clinic as soon as possible. This allows the clinic to adjust the schedule or make necessary accommodations.

If you arrive after the grace period, you may need to reschedule your appointment. This is to ensure that subsequent patients are seen on time and the clinic’s schedule is not disrupted. Repeated late arrivals or not notifying the clinic in advance may result in a no-show fee or late cancellation fee.

  • Please complete the necessary forms and wear loose, comfortable clothing.

  • During your first visit, we will review your medical history and discuss your primary concerns.

Every visit includes both a thorough evaluation and a treatment. Because every individual comes with a different story and medical history, visit times can vary.

Please allow 1 to 1.5 hours for an initial visit and 45 minutes to 1 hour for follow-up visits.

  • To support your healing after osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), it’s crucial to adopt a holistic approach to your aftercare.

Start by drinking an adequate amount of room-temperature water to stay hydrated, as this helps facilitate the body’s natural healing processes.

Avoid any vigorous activities or additional treatments, such as physical therapy, massage therapy, or chiropractic care, for at least the first 24 hours to give your body time to fully integrate the benefits of the treatment. While you can resume your regular activities, it's important to take it easy and listen to your body during this initial period. Gentle movements and rest can significantly enhance your recovery.

Additionally, prioritize good quality sleep and nutrition, as these are key components of holistic health. Proper rest allows your body to repair and rejuvenate, while a balanced diet provides the necessary nutrients to support healing and overall well-being. By taking a comprehensive approach to your post-treatment care, you can optimize the benefits of OMT and promote lasting health.

  • The frequency of your treatment will be based on your initial evaluation.

Typically, we start with appointments every 1-2 weeks and gradually spread them out to 2-3 weeks. Our goal is to manage your health with minimal intervention and help you achieve long-term wellness.

The goal of each treatment is to give your body a push toward its normal, healthy physiological state. I am looking for progressive change with each visit. Most patients experience a meaningful shift in their body within the first few treatments; however, this doesn't always mean your symptoms will resolve in that timeframe. Once your body has stabilized and your symptoms have improved, you are welcome to continue maintenance care. I can also provide recommendations for other skilled practitioners, such as physical or massage therapists, who can help you maintain your progress.
